The Lion Program

For Boys and Girls who are five or six years old and in Kindergarden, the Boy Scouts of America have introduced a new program level called the Lion.

Scouts in the Lion program only occasionally meet with the whole cub scout pack.

Lion Scouts and the Adult partners will usually meet twice a month at the home of one of the lion families.  They make friends, discover nature, gain confidence in their accomplishments and most of all…have fun! They experience the Scouting concepts of character development, leadership, citizenship, and personal fitness through engaging and exciting adventures!

The pack provides the Lion den with a coordinator, who will work with the parents and guardians to take turns leading adventures for the rest of the den.  The Boy Scouts of America provide a guide book with the Lion Handbook, and the resources and experience of the pack are available to help the parents lead these adventures with their sons.
