The Phelan family has graciously invited the pack to tour the Simply Fresh Events commercial kitchen. Please read the message below for the important details.

For our Pack meeting on Wednesday, 2/12 at 7:15 pm, we will be meeting at the commercial kitchen of Simply Fresh Events. The address is 7621 Rickenbacker Drive, Suite 500, Gaithersburg, MD, 20879. Our entrances are on the far side of the building. Please park in the spaces labeled “500” and we will help park additional cars as needed. This is a great time to carpool with neighbors if possible.

Scouts should wear their Class B uniforms (a scout themed T-shirt or something similar) and shoes with nonslip soles (athletic style closed-toed shoes) as we will be touring a working kitchen. If scouts have any food allergies, please make sure they are aware and prepared themselves, and we ask parents to email Liz at liz.phelan@simplyfreshevents.com as well. We will begin with a brief opening activity at 7:15 pm before moving right into the tour, so do your best to be there! Look forward to seeing you soon! Liz & Matt Phelan

Pack 468 families,

I hope this message finds everyone well. I want to invite everyone to our annual summer hike, which will take place next Saturday, August 22nd at 1:00 PM at Seneca Creek State Park (https://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/pages/central/seneca.aspx). We will be hiking the Lakeshore Trail, which circles Clopper Lake. The park entrance is located at 11950 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Please note that according to their website, there is a park entrance fee of $3 per person on weekends. We will meet at the parking lot near the boat center (circled in purple on the attached map).

We are asking that families who join the hike please bring and wear masks and we will be sure to socially distance as we hike the trail. The loop trail is about 3.5 miles with some moderate elevation changes at times. Families have the option of doing the entire loop, or turning around after the first mile for an out-and-back distance of 2 miles. Please don’t forget your 6 essentials of hiking (First Aid Kit, Water Bottle, Flashlight, Trail Food, Sun Protection/Bug Spray, Whistle).

This is an optional pack activity and given the ever evolving COVID-19 situation, if you feel uncomfortable meeting up as a group, please feel free to create your own hike. Looking forward to seeing some of you next weekend!
