All Cub Scouts attending first grade are members of the Tiger Den. While a Tiger, the Scout will work on a Adventures that are geared to their age level and interests. There are 20 Adventures that the Tiger Scouts can work on. Once a Scout has completed six required Adventures and one elective Adventure, and a few other requirements, the Scout will have earned the Tiger rank award.
Even if they do not earn the Tiger Rank Award, a Tiger Scout will automatically become a member of the Wolf Den in June, when they complete the first grade.
All Cub Scouts attending second grade are members of the Wolf Den. Like the Tiger Scout, Wolf Scouts will work on a Adventures that are geared to their age level and interests. There are 20 Adventures that the Wolf Scouts can work on. Once a Wolf Scout has completed six required Adventures and one elective Adventure, and a few other requirements, the Scout will have earned the Wolf rank award.

Even if they do not earn the Bear Rank Award, a Bear Scout will automatically become a member of the Webelos Den in June, when they complete the third grade.
Fourth grade Scouts are members of a Webelos Den. Webelos also work on Adventures and other requirements as they progress to earn their Webelos rank badge and prepare for their transition into Boy Scouts. To earn the Webelos badge the Scouts will need to complete five required Adventures and two elective ones. Webelos rank award recipients may wear either the diamond or oval versions of the award.
Upon completing fourth grade, the Webelos Scouts become members of the Arrow of Light Den, and will begin progress to earning the Arrow of Light Award, even if they have not completed the Webelos rank award.
Fifth grade Scouts are members of an Arrow of Light Den (sometimes also called a Webelos 2 Den). As with Webelos, the Scouts will work on Adventures as they work towards the Arrow of Light rank award and joining Boy Scouts. The Arrow of Light rank award is the only Cub Scout rank award that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. The Arrow of Light rank award requires the completion of 4 required and three elective Adventures. There are 18 elective Adventures shared between the Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts, however, Adventures used to earn the Webelos rank badge cannot also be counted for the Arrow of Light rank award.
As long as the Scout is at least 10 years old, once they earn the Arrow of Light rank award, they may join a Boy Scout troop. Once a Scout has completed the fifth grade, or is eleven years old, they may join a Boy Scout troop, even if they did not earn the Arrow of Light rank award.
